Dear reader- this is a songfic, but I will be writing a different Ben and Jimmy that is not a songfic, just bare with me. Disclaimer: I in no ways own Falling Skies. Jimmy pov
He's at it again, I tried to stop him, but he won't listen to me. Ben thinks it's his fault that the Skitters know where we are constantly and keep attacking us, because of the stupid spikes in his back. I keep telling him it's not, but he doesn't believe me. So he has made it his personal mission to find and kill as many skitters as possible. I told him that he is crazy to do this and that he just needs to stop, because this last time he ended up in the "hospital" for 2 days and this time it only was just a sprained arm and ankle, but what if it's worse next time? He says that he is fine, but he needs to stop going out there, because I don't know what I would do without him, I need him.

Okay so in this one Ben was never harnessed, and he sees Jimmy around and can't stand him, but for some reason he can't get him out of his head.

Ben's POV
There he is again Jimmy freaking boland, he thinks he is just the best thing to happen since sliced bread because he's a kid soldier. Gosh he just makes my face red with anger and do you want to know the worst part? I can't stop thinking about him. He takes over my thoughts during the day and at night he invades my dreams. His very presence near me makes my palms sweaty and my stomach flutter with butterflies, and I hate him for that. Jimmy Boland is like that old shirt that is torn up and stained, but you can't get rid of because you can't stand to part with it. I get it, the world is in ruins, but really the person that drives me crazy, but makes me all fuzzy inside has to be Jimmy Boland? I think life hates me.

Jimmy POV
I was walking down the halls today when I saw Ben Mason run into an empty room with tears welling in his eyes. I went to check on him, because unlike most people will tell you I do not hate the razorbacks and I most certainly do not hate Ben Mason. They just creep me out a little, but when someone is in need or they are hurting I will help them if possible, and he looks like he needs someone right now, and I do have a bit of a crush on him. I can't help it, he is just so cute. I walked into the room and what I saw nearly broke me heart. Ben was huddled in a corner sobbing, looking like a small child during a thunder storm.
"Hey, are you okay?" I asked touching his shoulder lightly. "Go away, leave me alone." He said through the tears. "Not until you tell me what's got you so upset. You can tell me, I won't speak a word of what is said in this room to another soul. I promise." He looked up at me with watery eyes and said something that made my heart sink. "Why? Just so you can hate me like everyone else? Even my own brothers don't look at me the same way. It's like I'm a freak show. Just leave me alone; turn your back on me like the rest of them have." By this point he started to cry again turning his head down again. "Ben." i said. "Ben look at me." I said pulling his chin up to look in his eyes. "I do not hate you. I never have. I don't see you as a freak. Your brothers don't hate you, they are just not use to having you around and the spikes on your back might scare some off, but not me. You are just a normal person to me." I told him.
"Do you really mean that?" he asked me, voice wavering. "Yes I do." I told him confidently. I pulled his still shaking form into my arms, rocking him back and forth until he stopped crying. When he finally did I looked at him once more before pulling away and starting towards the door. Before I could take two steps forward he pulled me to him and kissed me soundly on the lips. "Promise me you will never leave me." He asked. "I promise." I told him before pulling away. I walked to the door pausing, "Well are you comeing?" I asked him holding out my hand. He nodded before grabbing my hand and walking with me into the hall. It doesn't matter what we face because we will face it together.
